Life Is Too Short

Life is short. We never know how or when it will end, but it's far too short to not do what makes your soul feel alive."
As I've gotten older, I've realized that so much of life is spent waiting.
Waiting until we're less busy.
Waiting until we have more money.
Waiting until we're more confident.
Waiting until someone approves of our dreams.
But the truth is, none of us are promised tomorrow.
We don't know how much time we have with the people we love. We don't know how many sunsets we'll get to watch, how many opportunities will come our way, or how many chances we'll have to start over. Life can change in an instant.
That realization isn't meant to make us afraid. It's meant to wake us up.
It's a reminder to create the art. Take the trip. Adopt the pet. Start the business. Write the book. Wear the outfit. Try the hobby. Tell people you love them. Rest when you're tired. Protect your peace.
Too many people spend their lives trying to meet everyone else's expectations and forget to ask themselves one important question:
"What makes me happy?"
Happiness doesn't have to be grand or extraordinary. Sometimes it's a quiet morning with coffee, a walk with your dog, a creative project, a good book, or a moment of laughter with someone you care about.
Life is fragile, but it is also beautiful.
So don't save your joy for "someday."
Do the things that make your soul feel alive while you still have the chance.
